Steve Creed and Ken Spencer triumph in the Midland Senior Pairs

Steve Creed (Stratford-on-Avon) and Ken Spencer (Stratford Oaks) triumph in the Midland Senior Pairs with an impressive 66 two ahead of Birstall pairing of Steve Sansome and Phil Gray. Mark Scrarrett and Adrian Jones, both from The Leicestershire, took third place on 69 ahead of Woodhall Spa pair Colin Nolan and James Lee also finishing on 69. Four pairs on 70 were separated on the count back rule with 5th place being taken by Nigel Chesters (Hawkstone Park) and Neil Hughes (The Gog Magog), sixth were Paul Morrison and Jeremy Woodcock, both from Woodhall Spa followed by Roger Neale (Stratford Oaks) and Simon Timmins (Copt Heath). Final pair on 70 were Bill Thompson (Kings Norton) and Steve Green (Rose Hill).

Best nett score of the day was 65 by John Langley (Cosby) and David Middleton Lutterworth.

With the Pairs event qualifying for Midland Senior Order of Merit points, runner up Steve Sansome was projected to the Order of Merit leader on 180 points. Pairs winner Ken Spencer moved into second place just 24 points behind. Pairs winner Steve Creed leap up the table to 5th. The top 10 Order of Merit table being populated my many who featured well in the final Pairs leader board.
