Joshua Gardner and Eva Myers crowned Midland Junior Champion of County Champions.

Joshua Gardner (Coventry) and Eva Myers (Chesterfield) crowned Midland Junior Champion of County Champions at Girton Golf Club on 21st September 2025.

Joshua Gardner, representing Warwickshire, was crowned Midland Boys Junior Champion of County Champions after a sudden death play-off with Hayden Sarfo (Worcester G&CC), winning at the first extra hole. Both players finished on 139 (+1) after 36 holes to force the play-off. Joshua Gardner produced the best RD 1 score of 69 followed up with a 70 in the second round. Hayden Sarfo, representing Worcestershire, opened with a 71 but returned the lowest 2nd round score of 68 to equal Joshua Gardner on 139. Zach Banks (Shifnal), representing Shropshire & Herefordshire, finished 3rd on 141 and Toby Osbourne (Cosby), representing Leicestershire & Rutland, 4th also on 141.

The final order of the Boys County Champions were:

1. Joshua Gardner (Warwickshire) 139 * 1st Extra hole

2. Hayden Sarfo (Worcestershire) 139

3. Zach Banks (Shropshire & Herefordshire) 141

4. Toby Osbourne (Leicestershire & Rutland) 141

5. Jadon Pham (Northamptonshire) 148

6. Kian Moran (Derbyshire) 149

7. Declan Goodfellow (Lincolnshire) 149

8. William Psenko (Nottinghamshire) 160

 

Eva Myers, representing Derbyshire, was crowned Midland Girls Junior Champion of County Champions outright on 147 with Millie Marsh (Sherwood Forest), representing Nottinghamshire on 148 ahead of Serafima Taylor (Sutton Coldfield), representing Warwickshire, 0n 154 and in 4th place representing Shropshire was Lily Griffiths on 157.

The final order of the Girls County Champions were:

1. Eva Myers (Derbyshire) 147

2. Millie Marsh (Nottinghamshire) 148

3. Serafima Taylor (Warwickshire) 154

4. Lily Griffiths (Shropshire) 157

5. Gabriella Crowfoot (Leicestershire & Rutland) 158

 

All players attending were competing in their respective age divisions.

Top 3 in the U18 Boys was Joshua Gardner (139), Zach Banks (141) and Toby Osbourne (141).

Top 3 in the U16 Boys division was Hayden Sarfo on 139, Kamraan Arastu (Copt Heath) was runner-up on 142 and Harry Slater (Wrekin) in 3rd place on 146.

Top 3 in the U14 Boys division was Alfie Turner (Trentham) on 140 after an equally best score of the day of 68 to match Hayden Sarfo in the second round. Runner-up was Jake Notton (Saffron Walden) on 150 and 3rd place was Luke Edis (Thonock Park) on 154

 

In the Girls competition the top 3 in the U18 division were Eva Myers on 147, with Maisie Halstead (Kenilworth) runner-up on 157 and Gabriella Crowfoot (Longcliffe) 3rd on 158.

Top 3 in the U16 Girls division were Millie Marsh on 148, runner-up was Sarafima Taylor on 154 and 3rd place went to Edie Speirs (Cosby) on 165.

Top 3 in the U14 Girls division were Lily Griffiths (The Shropshire) on 157, runner-up was Mia Gregory (Brocton Hall) on 160 and 3rd place was Ellie Wang (Beeston Fields) on 164.

 

An additional presentation was carried out to Alfie Turner, representing Staffordshire, who despite only being 14 had been representing Staffordshire at the English Men’s Champion of Champions event at Woodhall Spa the previous week and had finished in a tie for 3rd place overall but awarded Midland Men’s Champion of County Champions as the highest placed finish of all players representing the 10 Midland Counties.
