Steve Sansome (Rothley Park) wins the 2025 Midland Mid-Amateur Open Championship at Kirby Muxloe Golf Club.
Steve Sansome (Rothley Park) opened with a 3 under Par 68 to lead fellow club member, and holder of the 2024 England Mid-Amateur Logan Trophy, Scott Wormleighton by just 1 shot. Richard Bush (Coventry) held 3rd place with a 72 and Steve Dines (Lincoln) and Ady Marshall (The Herefordshire) tied for 4th on 74. There were a group of another 11 players signing off with 75 and 76 to be within touch distance of the mid-point leader. However, Steve Sansome returned another under Par finish in round 2 with a 1 under 70 to finish on 138 (-4). Scott Wormleighton held onto second place with a level par 71 to finish on 140 (-2). Richard Bush was a further 5 shots back on 145. Rob Maxfield (Wolstanton) took 4th place with a total 146 and Fraser Hasell (Droitwich) finished 5th and best net on 147. Tied 6th were Shaun Angell (Rotherham) and Jamie Milligan (Wellingborough) on 148. Anthony Wagstaff (Woodhall Spa) and Stephen Dines (Lincoln) shared 8th on 149. Tied 10th on 150 were Andy Grimwood (St. Neots) and Nathan Holt (Hunstanton).
