2015 MIDLAND MID-AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

(Open to amateur golfers of all nationalities with a handicap of 9 or less)

 to be played over 36 holes on the course of

THE LEICESTERSHIRE GOLF CLUB – LEICESTERSHIRE & RUTLAND

On Thursday 14th May 2015

The competitors must be thirty five years of age or more on the day of the championship.

All UK players must hold a CONGU ‘active’ handicap (9 or less). Non UK players must hold a handicap (9 or less) operated by a recognised Overseas Golfing Union, Federation or Association.

The Championship will be 36 holes medal play, and the player(s) with the best gross score will be the Champion (subject to Clause 5). There will be group prizes (gross) for Age Groups 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, and 55 and over, together with some  consolation prizes, but a competitor may not receive more than one prize.

A tie for first place will be decided by a play-off at the Committee’s discretion, ties for all other places will be decided by the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole in that order.

Closing date for online/postal entries will be Noon on Thursday 23rd April 2015.

RESERVES

Reserves will be contacted and included in the field as and when withdrawals occur.

PRACTICE

The club has kindly agreed to allow the competitors only a practice round in the 4 weeks prior to the championship by arrangement with the Pro-Shop, telephone no 01162 738825 (X3). No practice is available on a Saturday or before 14.00pm on a Tuesday.

REGISTRATION

The MGU desk will be situated in the Foyer.

CATERING

Bacon rolls and coffee etc will be available from 07.00am on a cash sale basis. Lunch is included in the entrance fee for all competitors, a meal ticket will be issued to every competitor when returning his first round scorecard to the MGU desk, if any additional meals are required for caddies, wives etc. tickets should be purchased from the MGU desk on registration.

DRESS

Clubhouse:  Smart casual. Collared shirts ( No waterproofs, jeans or trainers).

Course:  Normal golfing attire,  white or coloured socks (NOT trainer/ankle socks) may be worn if wearing tailored shorts.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Procedure for suspension of play for any reason will be issued with the scorecard.

Please be vigilant with security of your golf equipment and your personal effects as neither The Leicestershire Golf Club nor the Midland Golf Union Ltd can accept any responsibility for theft or accident. Competitors are strongly advised to have their own insurance cover.

DMD’s

Only DMD’s that calculate distance are permitted.  Those providing other information such as wind speed, elevation, temperature etc are NOT permitted. If, during a ‘stipulated round’ a player fails to comply with these conditions, the player is in breach of Rule 14.3 for which the penalty is disqualification.
