2018 MIDLAND CLOSED AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The Championship will comprise of 36 holes stroke play.
The competitor must hold a CONGU ‘active’ handicap and the limit will be 5.4 The Committee reserve the right to ballot the higher handicaps should it be necessary.
60 competitors shall be eligible to compete. In the event of applications exceeding this number, entry for the higher handicap competitors shall be decided by ballot. Unsuccessful entries will be added to a list of reserves. If the level of entries falls below 60 then the Committee reserve the right to amend the competition prize fund accordingly.
For 'Online' entries all boys under 18 years of age on the 9th June 2018 must submit a PARENTAL CONSENT form . Entries will NOT be accepted unless completed.

Format: 36-hole scratch medal
Number of competitors: 60 and ties
Starting Times: 8.00am and 1.00pm
White Tees: 1st & 10th
All players will be provided with a lunch of sandwiches and chips between rounds.
Bacon rolls and coffee will be available on arrival for £3.65. Evening meals will be available to purchase up until 9pm. All food ordered is on a cash sale basis.
Clubhouse: Smart casual, collared shirts (jeans permissible, no trainers, no waterproofs, no golf shoes)
Course: Normal golfing attire, tailored shorts with white sport socks.
The MGU registration desk will be located in the lounge near patio doors.
Scores will be visible on the MGU scoreboard or the Golf Club TV screen within the main lounge. Scores will also be available to view on the MGU website.
Play will be from the white tees.
A pin position chart will be provided at the registration desk.
Yardage Markers are posts at 150 yards to centre of greens.
There is a bell in place on the 13th holes which players should use to signal to the following group they are clear to play.

The club have kindly agreed to a practice round for competitors, after the closing date, at a rate of £10.00 per round. All others will be required to pay a green fee applicable on the day. Practice rounds should be booked direct with the Proshop and are subject to availability. Practice rounds are not available Tuesday mornings and Thursday mornings.
