Midland Under 16 Boys and Girls Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship

Format: 54-hole scratch medal

All players will play 36 holes on Tuesday 16th April (18 holes on both courses) followed by 18 holes on Wednesday 17th April on the Championship Course (top half of the field) or 18 holes on the Hawkstone Course for those below the cut line.

Number of competitors: 117 (mixture of boys and girls)

Starting Times: 7:46am & 12:46 (Refer to blank start sheets)

Midland U16 Girls Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship: Top three places will gain a handicap exemption into the England Golf Girls U16 Stroke Play Championship.

CATERING

Meal Tickets will be proved by the Midland Golf Union. (MGU can provide)     

Bacon rolls and tea/coffee will be available from 7:00am each day for £5.50 on a cash sale basis

A players lunch will be provided on Tuesday between rounds

A players tea will be provided on Wednesday after play and prior to the prize presentation.

 

DRESS REGULATIONS

Clubhouse: Smart casual. – no denims, no waterproofs, no golfing gear, no golf shoes.

Course: Normal golfing attire, tailored shorts may be worn with white sport socks.

 

MGU ADMINISTRATION

Locality of registration desk: Ground floor lobby area of Terrace.                           

Score Cards. Players should register at least 30 minutes prior to tee time each day.

Local rules/temporary local rules: EG Hard card plus any local rules on the day

Course planners are available:          £4.25

 

THE COURSE

Tees to be used: White Tee (Boys) and Red Tess (Girls)

Yardage Markers: Posts at 150 yards to centre of green

 

PRACTICE

Practice round on Monday 15th April by application through the Midland Golf Union

Practice rounds are also available on Sunday 14th April between 12:00 and 13:30 on the Hawkstone Course and between 12:00 and 13:50 on the Championship course – Fee of £10.00 applies. All bookings through Midland Golf Union

Practice rounds at any other will be subject to a green fee of £25.00 per person on the Championship Course and £39.00 per person on the Hawkstone Course.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

Players safety note: Hawkstone course: bell on 13th & 17th and raised platform on 10th & 16th

First Aiders: Pro shop staff, duty manager, green keepers                                                                         

On course shelters: Starters huts 1st & 11th on Hawkstone course.         

In the event of thunder and lightning the MGU have a klaxon and will take responsibility: Club klaxons operated by Pro shop
