 WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY 11th,12th AND 13th JULY 2018

 The championship is 72 holes of scratch medal play.

Entrants must be under 21 years or 18 years (Howell Cup) of age on 1st. January 2018 and hold a CONGU 'active' handicap of 8 or less.

The entry fee is £45.00.

The Kymin Cup and Howell Cup are classified as world ranking events

For 'Online' entries all boys under 18 years of age on the 10th July 2018 must submit a PARENTAL CONSENT form . Entries will NOT be accepted unless completed.

PRACTICE

Practice round is available to competitors on Tuesday 10^th July 2018 from 11:00am to 4:30pm. Tee allocations to be requested through entry form. Alternatively contact Neil Harris (Tel: 01529 413195 or Email secretary@midlandgolfunion.co.uk) to book your practice round tee time.

All players will be accommodated as closely as possible to requested times.

THE EVENT

Midland Youths Championship incorporating The Kymin Cup, The Bob Howell Trophy and the Andrew Hare Salver.

Format: 72 Holes strokeplay                            

Number of competitors: 150 and ties              

Starting Times: 7:30am (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)    

Starting Tee: 1st                 

Time course closed to members: From 11.00 to 16.30 Tuesday 10th July and all day until competitors are clear Wednesday to Friday

 

CATERING

Meal Tickets will be provided to each competitor on Wednesday and Thursday and all qualifiers on Friday.

Bacon rolls and tea/coffee will be available from 7:00am each morning on a cash sale basis for £3.00

 

DRESS REGULATIONS

Clubhouse: Smart casual, no water proofs, ne head gear, no golf shoes.

Course: Normal golfing attire, tailored shorts & sports socks.

 

MGU ADMINISTRATION

The MGU registration desk will be located in the scorers tent.

Scores will be displayed on the MGU scoreboard in main clubhouse and on the MGU website.       

Weather permitting scores will also be displayed on the external boards between the registration scorers tent and the recorders caravan.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

There is a wooden shelter at the halfway house by the 10^th green and wooden shelters by the 3rd and 14th holes.        

 

THE COURSE

White tees will be used on all days.

A pin position chart will be available each day from the MGU registration desk.

Yardage Markers are provided in the form of posts at 150 yards to centre of greens.                                           

Players should be aware spotters may be out on the course on the following holes to assist where possible. However players are responsible for locating their own balls. 2nd 8th and 13th holes (13th now defined as a call up hole)

Bell on 6th hole may be moved closer to green for safety.

Players should be aware there is a Public ‘right of way’ around perimeter of the course and around the 9th and 10th tee through to the 13th tee.

There is a plan of the course available.

Players to be advised must play one ball only. No multiple practice around greens.

               

DIRECTIONS

Entry to the club is off the A1 North bound carriageway only via a joint entrance previously a services area (recently demolished). Care is to be taken if approaching the club via the A1 south bound carriageway. Access across the central reservation is possible but a safe crossing is only a mile further south at the Easton exit.

 

No other buggies allowed on the course.

Various budget accommodation is available in area (Grantham, Oakham, Stamford).
