2018 MIDLAND MID-AMATEUR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

(Open to amateur golfers of all nationalities with a handicap of 9 or less)

 to be played over 36 holes on the course of

ST. IVES (HUNTS) GOLF CLUB – CAMBRIDGESHIRE

On Thursday 17th May 2018

The competitors must be thirty five years of age or more on the day of the championship.

All UK players must hold a CONGU ‘active’ handicap (9 or less). Non UK players must hold a handicap (9 or less) operated by a recognised Overseas Golfing Union, Federation or Association.

The Championship will be 36 holes medal play, and the player(s) with the best gross score will be the Champion (subject to Clause 5). There will be group prizes (gross) for Age Groups 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, and 55 and over, together with some  consolation prizes, but a competitor may not receive more than one prize.

A tie for first place will be decided by a play-off at the Committee’s discretion, ties for all other places will be decided by the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole in that order.

Closing date Monday 30th APRIL 2018.

The Midland Mid-Amateur Open Champion for 2018 will gain exemption into the English Men’s Open Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the LOGAN TROPHY at Long Ashton Golf Club on 6^th to 8^th July 2018 (subject to meeting all the entry criteria) and the entry fee will be paid by the Midland Golf Union for a player registered within a golf club affiliated to the Midland Golf Union.

CATERING

A Bacon bap and coffee will be provided to all players on arrival

Ham egg and chips will be provided at lunch (between rounds)

The above is provided within the entry fee.

Food will be available on a cash sale basis on completion of round two.

 

DRESS REGULATIONS

Clubhouse: Smart casual, collared shirts (No waterproofs)

Course: Normal golfing attire, Tailored shorts with sport socks.

 

MGU ADMINISTRATION

The MGU registration deck will be within the entrance lobby. All players should register on arrival.

Scores will be displayed on the main screen at the end of the main lounge area. 

Course planners are available at a cost of £4.50 each

 

CAR PARKING

Ample parking is available.

 

THE COURSE 

White tees will be used.

A pin position chart will be provided on registration.

Yardage Markers: Small trees are positioned at 150 yards to front edge on some holes.

 

PRACTICE

The club has kindly agreed to allow one courtesy round for competitors only. All others will be asked to pay a green fee applicable on the day. Practice rounds are only available from 1st May onward. Players should contact the Proshop to arrange their practice round and all are subject to availability. 

Practice range available from 6:00am on 17th May (large basket £4.00, small basket £1.75), short game area with bunker, putting green. Chipping area.
