MIDLAND UNDER 16 BOYS AND GIRLS OPEN AMATEUR STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

HAWKSTONE PARK GOLF CLUB

3rd & 4th APRIL 2018

All players will play 18 holes on the Championship course and 18 holes on the Hawkstone Course on the 3rd April. The aggregate scores will be used to determine the qualifiers for the final round. On the 4th April the qualifiers will play a further 18 holes on the Championship Course, those missing the cut, will play a further 18 holes on the Hawkstone course, for a separate prize.

The Regional Trophy will be decided after Tuesday's Golf, best 3 from 4 scores to count , both morning and afternoon

 The handicap limit shall be 8.4 for Boys and 12.4 for Girls. If the total entry level exceeds 117 players a handicap ballot may apply. Those being balloted out will receive a full refund of their competition entry fee only.

For 'Online' entries all boys and girls under 18 years of age on the 1st January 2018 must submit a PARENTAL CONSENT form . Entries will NOT be accepted unless completed.

Local rules for Tuesday and Wednesday

Championship Update (10:30 2nd April)

The course has been inspected this morning and is very wet but improving by the hour. In the interests of protecting the courses we have cancelled the scheduled practice today however the range will be open from 10am to 2pm and will then close to allow the balls to be collected and cleaned ready for tomorrow.

Players will be allowed to walk the courses between 2pm and 5pm today but players are asked to stay off the greens in the interests of protecting them as much as possible. No play allowed.

Some bunkers may be out of play tomorrow and will be deemed GUR. These will be marked with a blue post. All others will be covered under the local rules issued to every player at registration.

The plan is to commence as scheduled at 7:36 on Tuesday and complete the championship as defined if the weather will allow.

Registration will be on the middle level in the morning.

Play on Wednesday will commence at 8:00am on the Hawkstone and 08:30am on Championship Course.

Bacon rolls and coffee will be available on arrival on a cash sale basis (not included within the entry fee)

Players will be provided with a lunch of sandwiches & chips or a jacket potato with fillings and a glass of squash

DRESS REGULATIONS

Clubhouse: Smart casual. – no denims, no waterproofs, no golfing gear.

Course:  Boys: Normal golfing attire. Boys will not be allowed to wear shorts.

Girls: Normal golfing attire. tailored shorts may be worn with white sport socks.

PRACTICE

Practice round on Monday 2nd April by application through the Midland Golf Union (01529 413195) on either the Hawkstone Course or the Championship Course.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds on either course will be available on Sunday 1st April between 12:00 and 13:30 on the Hawkstone Course and between 12:00 and 13:50 on the Championship Course. This to be booked through the Midland Golf Union on 01529 413195. These will be charged at £10 per round.

Practice rounds at any other time will be subject to a green fee of £25.00 per person on the Championship Course and £39.00 per person on the Hawkstone Course.
