The Midland’s Boy with the lowest gross score over 54 holes will be presented with the

BRIAN PURSE MEMORIAL TROPHY

The Competition is open to Boys with an amateur status who are under the age of 16 on 1st January 2024 and hold a WHS handicap index of 7.4 or under, and whose “Home Club” is affiliated to an English County Golf Union.

The top three Boys will receive handicap exemption into the English Boys U16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship (The McGregor Trophy) at West Essex Golf Club on 16th to 18th July 2024

Entry Fee £70.00 – Which includes a snack lunch on Wednesday and a meal after golf on Thursday.

All players will play 36 holes on Wednesday 3rd April (18 holes on Championship and 18 holes on the Hawkstone Course) Top 50% after 36 holes (above the cut line) then play a further 18 holes on the championship course on Thursday 4th April 2024. The remaining 50% (below the cut line) play a 18 hole stableford on the Hawkstone course on Thursday.

There are two starting points on each course so the first round could be at any one of four starting positions.

JUSTIN ROSE TELEGRAPH JUNIOR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

Round 1 scores will be a qualifier for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championships.

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

All practice rounds to be booked through the Midland Golf Union - contact Championships@midlandgolfunion.co.uk

The official practice round is on Tuesday 2nd April 2024 between 11:20 and 15:00 by application through the Midland Golf Union – An additional practice round is available on Monday 1st April. A Fee of £20.00 applies.
