Midland Mid Amateur Open Championship - 23rd May 2023- CANCELLED

It is with regret we are forced to cancel the Midland Mid Amateur Open Championship to be held at Greetham Valley on 23rd May 2024 due to a lack of entries and therefore the event is not viable for us. Continuing with such a low entry means the competition would be at a large financial loss. We will be refunding your entry fee today.

We appreciate that this must also come as a disappointment to everyone.

The Mid Amateur is a difficult market since the loss of the nationwide Mid Amateur Tour about 5 years ago, of which the Midland event was classed as a qualifying event. The Tour was always a help in getting a reasonable entry level for us, but we have struggled to attract players recently, and this year has seen a downturn generally in entries possibly due to many players not wishing to commit when courses are struggling to overcome the extreme weather conditions.

We have not taken this decision lightly but feel we are unable to sustain a loss in the event.

Practice rounds

Practice rounds for competitors will be available, midweek only and will be subject to availability. Member guest rate of £25 per competitor and to be booked through the Pro Shop.
