At the 5th Annual General Meetiung of the Midland Golf Union Limited held at Stourbridge Golf Club yesterday 23rd October 2011 Alan Benson Esq. accepted the nomination to be come the next MGU President taking over at the 2012 AGM.
Alan is well known for all his work in promoting 'Junior Golf' not only in Nottinghamshire but throughout the Midlands having been the Midland Golf Union Chairmain of Junior Golf for the lats 6 years.
Alan stated 'I was overwhelmed when asked to become the next President and am looking forward to serving the Union in my term in office.
David Hylins of Leicestershire & Rutland has taken over from Alan as the MGU Chairman of Junior Golf, we wish him every success in this appointment.
The 'Flanders Trophy' played for annually at this event was won by Anthony Smith [S&H] with a score of 36 points from Terry Leece [Treasurer] with 34 points.
